Cervidae Hike

On Labor Day Jeff, Aubrey, and I decided to do a sunset hike. We chose Cervidae, which is near Lucky Peak Reservoir. It was a beautiful hike, about 2.2 miles to the top (mostly all uphill) and then back down the same route, for about a 4 1/2 miles round trip. The sun was just setting as we reached the top. We didn't linger long--just signed the register and took a few pictures. Then we hurried back down the mountain, using our flashlights for the last 30 minutes of the hike. The trail was very dry and dusty, so we were filthy by the time we got done. We had to come home and shower before bed, but first we stopped at Sonic for half price shakes after 8:00, which tasted so good.
